Bonnie Pickard was a Principal Dancer with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, having danced with the company from 1999 until her retirement in 2009. Ms. Farrell featured Ms. Pickard in a wide variety of Balanchine’s ballets, such as Chaconne, Scotch Symphony, Mozartiana, Liebesleder Walzer, Meditation, Episodes, Serenade, Bugaku, Brahms—Schoenberg Quartet, Ballade, La Source, Variations for Orchestra, Apollo, Divertimento No. 15, La Sonnambula, Divertimento Brillante, Tempo di Valse and Stars and Stripes Pas de Deux, as well as Bejart’s Romeo and Juliet Pas de Deux. She began working as a Rehearsal Assistant for Ms. Farrell in 2011
Ms. Pickard received her training at the Dayton Ballet School in Ohio under the tutelage of Barbara Pontecorvo and then began her professional career with Chautauqua Dance Company, going on to dance for North Carolina Dance Theatre, Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Montgomery Ballet, BalletNY, Chamber Dance Project, Configurations and appearing with Peter Boal & Company and as a guest artist for Ballet Philippines. Her repertoire ranged from additional Balanchine ballets to contemporary works by choreographers such as William Forsythe, Thaddeus Davis, Victor Quijada, Peter Quanz and Bam Damian. Upon retiring from performing she began guest teaching and coaching in Manila with Ballet Philippines while she lived there. Her biggest role however, is that of mother to her young daughters, Penelope and Josette.
