Heidi L. Kershaw, from Springfield, VA, received her early training from Tatiana Rousseau and Oleg Tupine at The Virginia Ballet Company and went on to earn her BFA, Magna Cum Laude in Dance, from George Mason University. She has been privileged to have performed as a principal dancer, featured soloist, corps de ballet member, dance captain, and choreographer in over 30 different productions with the Arizona, New York Metropolitan, Santa Fe, Washington In-Series, and Washington National Opera companies. She has also danced as a company member or guest artist with Bowen McCauley Dance, Dario Vaccaro Dance Project, Malashock Dance, and the Spanish Dance Theatre of the Spanish Dance Society. Ms. Kershaw made her musical theater debut in the 50th Anniversary International tour of West Side Story and was most recently seen as Kristine in A Chorus Line with Olney Theatre Center. She has taught ballet, pointe, creative movement, Spanish dance, barre burn, and Pilates mat, as well as assisting with outreach programs in schools, retirement homes, and for people with disabilities throughout the greater Washington DC area and New York. Ms. Kershaw is currently going back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.
