Class Descriptions


Adult Basic Beginner

Ballet A basic class that introduces the student to the elementary positions of
classical ballet. Classes are slow and thorough to ensure proper alignment.
Classes begin anew three times a year.

Adult Beginner Ballet II

A continuing class for students who have some knowledge of
ballet or have had dance as a child and wish to begin again.

Adult Advanced Beginner

A continuing class for students who have knowledge of ballet.
This class includes more complex material than Beginner II.

Adult Intermediate

A class for students who are comfortable with the ballet
curriculum and can move easily through the barre and center.

Adult Advanced Intermediate

A more involved class than Intermediate for students with secure
technique and the capacity to keep up in a fast-paced class.

Adult Advanced

This class is for the professional dancer or student who is knowledgeable and secure in
all steps. Large movements, beats, many pirouettes in all positions. Not for the unskilled.

Modern

Horton based modern class with focus on body placement, Horton vocabulary and
gaining an understanding of organic movement qualities (weight shifting, suspension,
release, transitioning, etc.) as they relate to dance movement. Previous modern training
is not required, but students should at least be at the Advanced Beginner Ballet level.

Stretch Blend

A class including Abdominal work for strength

Stretching for flexibility
Breathing for relaxation

No experience needed

Classical Core Strength

A mat class taught by a certified Pilates instructor - to
strengthen the abdominals and improve alignment.

No experience needed

Beginning Jazz/Broadway Dance

This class provides an introduction to basic classical jazz
technique with fun Broadway-style routines.

No experience needed

Stretch Class

Slow paced - all levels - no previous training required. Emphasis on deep breathing and
alignment. Increase your circulation and balance, provide better joint range and muscle
function. Enhance your sense of well being!!
