MYB Senior Festival Students at Wolf Trap’s Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods

 

Children’s Intensive (age 8 – 11)

Audition Required

A junior version of MYB’s Summer Intensive. Dancers will be provided with a wide range of classes including daily ballet technique, jazz, modern, dance history and theory, and more. No repertory or performance element. Enrollment by the week.

Beginner & Intermediate: M-Th (8:45am – 4:00pm) and F (8:45am – 2:00pm)

June 25 – July 6

Tuition: $325/wk

 

Technique Classes Only (ages 8+)

Audition Required

Allows students to focus on ballet technique only with enrollment by the week.

Beginner & Intermediate (ages 8 – 11)

July 10 – July 19

T, W, Th (4:30-6:00 pm); Tuition: $70/wk

 

Level I, II, III (ages 10+)

June 25 – July 20

M – F (8:45 – 10:15 am); Tuition: $115/wk

(Level III with pointe): M – F (8:45 am – 12:00 pm); Tuition: $245/wk

 

Junior Festival (ages 8 – 11)

Audition Required

Beginner and Intermediate dancers take daily ballet technique as well as other dance styles such as jazz, character and modern. The week long session includes rehearsal experience and culminates with an in-studio performance for family and friends.

July 23 – 27

M – F (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

Tuition: $375

 

Senior Festival & Summer Intensive (ages 10 – 16)

Audition Required

Senior Festival is MYB’s signature summer program for students wishing intensive dance study together with repertory, rehearsal, and performance experience for maximum progress and development.  Dancers take daily ballet technique as well as men’s ballet, jazz, flamenco, and/or character.  Attendance is mandatory for the entire 5 week program.  Culminating performances at Wolf Trap’s Theatre-in-the-Woods and in MYB’s Black Box Theater. Registration deadline for Senior Festival is June 9 pending space availability.

Intensive affords the same range of classes and full day dance opportunities without the rehearsal and performance element with weekly enrollment.

Level I- Students must be 10 years or older and have had at least three years of previous ballet training.  Level II & III- Students must have had at least four years of previous ballet training, including at least one year of pointe work for girls.

 

Senior Festival:  June 25 – July 28

Level I & II: M – Th (8:45 am – 4:00 pm); Fri (8:45 am – 2:15 pm)

Level III: M – Th (8:45 am – 4:00 pm); Fri (8:45 am – 2:30 pm)

Tuition: $2,150/5 weeks (MYB students- $1,925/5 weeks)

 

Summer Intensive: 

Ballet: June 25 – July 20

Level I & II: M – Th (8:45 am – 4:00 pm); Fri (8:45 am – 2:15 pm)

Level III: M – Th (8:45 am – 4:00 pm); Fri (8:45 am – 2:30 pm)

Contemporary: July 9 – 20

M – Th (8:45 am – 4:00 pm); Fri (8:45 am – 2:15 pm)

Contemporary Dance Workshop: (Ages 9-12)

Audition Required

Aspiring dancers take daily ballet and modern technique as well as other contemporary dance styles. The two-week long session includes rehearsal experience and culminates with an in-studio performance for family and friends.

2-week session; M-F (9:00 – 4:00 pm)

July 30 – Aug 10

Tuition: $575

 

Ballet Bridge (ages 13 – 20)

For advanced ballet dancers wanting to stay in shape once the regular season ends and before summer intensives begin. Register in advance or drop-in.  Non-MYB students must be approved in advance with at least six years of ballet training plus a minimum of three years of pointe for females. Call/email for details.

June 11 – 22

M – F (4:30 pm – 6:00 pm)

Tuition: $20/class, $75/wk

 

Advanced Intensive (ages 13 – 20)

Audition Required

For the serious advanced ballet dancer wanting to prepare for the new season. Interested dancers should have a minimum of 6 years of consistent ballet training plus a minimum of three years of pointe for females. Non-professionals should be at a training level that consists of at least 8 hours of ballet per week. Enrolled dancers will take daily ballet technique classes and Pointe/Men’s Technique with the specific focus on improving all aspects of the dancer’s ballet technique. Weekly performance.

Two, 1-week sessions; August 6 – 17

M – F (10:00 am – 3:30 pm)  Tuition: $450/wk (Register by May 1 and receive $50 off!)

Daily Technique Only Option Available (10:00 am – 12:45 pm)  Tuition: $230 for any 5 classes
