The Maryland Youth Ballet welcomes NEW ADULT STUDENTS (age 13 and older) for free classes during National Dance Week, April 25 - May 4. All classes are at MYB studios at 926 Ellsworth Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Our phone number is 301.608.2232. No prior registration is required, but plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in for the class. Class descriptions are listed at the bottom.

Class Descriptions:
Adult Basic Beginner I Ballet - A basic class that introduces the student to the elementary positions of classical ballet. Classes are slow and thorough to ensure proper alignment. Classes begin anew three times a year.
Adult Beginner II Ballet - A continuing class for students who have some knowledge of ballet or have had dance as a child and wish to begin again. It includes use of right and left at the barre and simple en croix work.
Advanced Beginner Ballet - A continuing class for students who have knowledge of ballet. This class includes more complex material than Beginner II, and assumes knowledge of most vocabulary.
Adult Intermediate Ballet - A class for students who are comfortable with the ballet curriculum and can move easily through the barre and center.
Adult Advanced/Intermediate Ballet - A more involved class than Intermediate for students with secure technique and the capacity to keep up in a fast-paced class.
Adult Stretch - Slow paced - all levels - no previous training required. Emphasis on deep breathing and alignment. Increase your circulation and balance, provide better joint range and muscle function. Enhance your sense of well being!!
Classical Core Strength - A mat class taught by a certified Pilates instructor - to strengthen the abdominals and improve alignment.
