Nancy Fleeter Memorial Costume Fund
Nancy Fleeter had extraordinary experience in the management of arts organizations, serving as Chief Financial Officer of the American Ballet Theatre and controller of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Maryland Youth Ballet was fortunate to have Ms. Fleeter serve as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer from 2006 to 2008, the year of her death. Ms. Fleeter understood that the art of ballet encompasses more than just dance but also music and costume. Ms. Fleeter’s husband Rick and her friends established the Nancy Fleeter Costume Fund, as a tribute to Nancy and her passion for ballet. The fund has already supported the construction of the pink costumes for the “The Nutcracker’s” Sugar Plum Fairy and her attendants, (Ms. Fleeter’s favorite color), and the Lilac Fairy for MYB’s “Sleeping Beauty,” among others.
