School-Year Dress Code for the Youth & Pre-Professional Divisions and MYB Extension
Maryland Youth Ballet is dedicated to ensuring that students have uniform options that are skin-tone and gender inclusive and enables them to feel welcome and valued at MYB. If you would like individual guidance on uniform choices, please contact MYB via email or speak with your instructor.
Levels 1-3
Female-identifying Students
- SoDanca Basic Tank Leotard with Princess Seams #SL11 (child) or #SL10 (adult) – color dark purple (49)
- Capezio tights #1915(C) or 1916(C) – color ballet pink or flesh tone
- Pink or flesh tone ballet shoes (tights and shoes must match)
- Hair must be secured in a ballet bun or, for hair too short for a proper bun, pinned securely away from the dancer’s face and neck
Male-identifying Students
- Double Platinum Boys Short Sleeve T-Shirt #N7085C – color white
- Dance belt (if needed)
- Black tights/leggings
- Thin white ankle socks
- White ballet shoes
Levels 4-5
Female-identifying Students
- SoDanca Basic Tank Leotard with Princess Seams #SL11 (child) or #SL10 (adult) – color peacock
- Capezio tights #1916C or 1916 – color ballet pink or flesh tone
- Pink or flesh tone ballet shoes (tights and shoes must match)

Level 6

Electives
- Plain or MYB logo black leggings (capri or ankle length)

Pilates/Stretch/Yoga
- Fitted warmups can be worn over dance clothes
MYB Extension (Ballet)
Female-identifying Students
- Any solid color leotard
- Capezio tights #1916 – color ballet pink or flesh tone
- Pink or flesh tone ballet shoes (tights and shoes must match)
- Hair secured in a ballet bun and/or pinned securely away from the dancer’s face and neck.
Male-identifying Students
- Solid color T-shirt
- Dance belt (if necessary)
- Any black tights/leggings
- Thin white/black ankle socks with matching white/black ballet shoes
MYB Extension (Contemporary)
JAZZ
- Black footless tights or leggings
- Bare feet for modern and Horton, jazz shoes for jazz
