Summer Festival
ages 10-16
MYB’s summer program for students desiring intensive dance study. Full 5 week attendance required. Dancers take daily ballet technique, pointe (levels 4-6) and a special selection of additional classes like Jazz, Modern, Flamenco, Ballroom, Dance Conditioning, and music. The program includes a week of in-studio performances and a culminating performance at Wolf Trap’s Children’s Theater-in-the-Woods. Interested dancers should have a minimum of 3 years of consistent ballet training, taking classes 3 days a week.

Tuition Level 3: $2,100 (MYB student); $2,500 (non-MYB student)
Tuition Levels 4-6: $2,250 (MYB student); $2,750 (non-MYB student)

Appropriate for SY25-26 Levels 3-6. Students are allowed one pre-approved absence during the Summer Festival. Attendance during week 5, the performance week, is mandatory. No exceptions.

Summer Intensive
ages 10-16
MYB’s summer program for students desiring intensive dance study. DTSBDC’s Modern Dance Intensive
ages 14+
A four-day modern dance intensive with members of MYB’s resident modern dance company – Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. Participants will take daily modern technique classes, learn intricate modern dance choreography, as well as the history of American modern dance. Performance demonstration on the last day.

Appropriate for dancers ages 14 and up (SY25-26 Levels 5-8). Prior Modern/Contemporary Dance or Ballet Experience required for students NEW to MYB.
*The final performance demonstration on Friday will be reserved exclusively for dancers ages 14-21.

Children’s Intensive
ages 8-11
Beginner and Intermediate (Levels 1-2) dancers take daily ballet technique as well as a special selection of additional classes, an introduction to other styles of dance, crafts, and dance activities.

Twice a week classical ballet class for Levels 1-2 to maintain their technique over the summer.

Boys Ballet
ages 8-10
Boys Ballet provides boys and male identifying students with beginner and intermediate ballet training that focuses on developing basic technique and strength. Levels 1-2.

Extension Technique
ages 11-17
Technique classes 3-days a week, for ages 11-17. Offered in a 2-week session, these classes are ideal for preteens/teens who have some dance experience.

August Maintenance Classes
ages 12-18
Technique and pointe classes to prepare students for the new season. Students enrolled in Levels 6-8 for the 2025-2026 school year are eligible, non-MYB students with permission.

REGISTRATION
Registration for Summer 2026 opens on February 1 at 9:00 am. Acceptance and placement into MYB’s Youth and Pre-Professional Summer Programs is determined by audition for students new to MYB. Current MYB students can register in 2025-2026 school-year level.
Limited summer scholarships available. Deadline to request financial assistance is April 1. Click HERE to apply.
